Anderson Germany has unveiled the reworked Audi R8 V10, christened the ‘Racing Edition‘, that comes with changes to its exterior, interior as well as the engine. The modifications resulted in an increase in engine power to 585 hp or 436 KW and reportedly allows the vehicle to achieve a top speed of 203 mph. The stock version of the car can reach up to 196 mph. Privé International has chosen this vehicle as our vehicle of choice for 2011 which comes conveniently equipped with Privé’s corporate orange & dark gray colors. This will be the car we will use for participating in; The Gumball 3000, Bull Run, and Gold Rush Rally.
For the exterior, carbon fiber has been used for most parts including the front apron, the discrete rear spoiler, rear diffuser, rear window bordering and the exterior mirrors. The modified R8 rides on the custom 19-inch lightweight carbon-coated alloy rims that sports an orange pinstripe and use 235/35 tires for the front axle and 295/30 tires for the rear one.
A new concept termed valve commanded exhaust system has been used to make the car lighter. This reportedly makes the car lighter by 37 lbs than the factory unit. Meanwhile, the V10 engine has received new ECU software, sports air filter and an exhaust system that feature special valves, allowing the driver to adjust the sound.
Further, the interior has been refurbished with carbon fiber and given a leather finish and orange stitching. Door trims, radio frame, ashtray, gear stick frame, hand brake knob and steering wheel all have been included in the package for a carbon make up.
