British automaker has teased a new design for its upcoming SUV and there are some details on what the brand hopes to achieve with the new model which are starting to surface. According to a recent report, Bentley is aiming for a world-topping 200-mph top speed for the SUV, which will go on sale starting in 2016. The most striking news is that the company revealed a teaser image showing the yet-unnamed vehicle’s front end.
Unlike the concept preview that debuted during the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the production car’s front end features headlights that look more in line with the Continental.
Bentley has big plans for its massive new product. The company said today that it anticipates a minimum annual sales volume of 3,000 units. That’s especially significant because 2013 was a banner year for the brand both in terms of volume and profit. It recorded an operating profit of £139.7 million ($232.2 million) and sold 10,120 vehicles, representing a 19 percent growth margin over 2012.
The company plans to commit more than $1.3 billion to developing new facilities and models over the next three years including the new SUV.
