Hong Kong-based yachtsman and bon viveur, Anto Marden, 5 years ago commissioned John Shuttleworth to build him the world’s coolest yacht, at 139-ft. this trimaran is taking shape and by appearances when completed it will be very unique in look and performance. Adastra combines the high-performance capabilities of the trimaran form with the luxurious accommodations of a traditional superyacht, along with enviable fuel efficiency. The superstructure of the craft is made of carbon fibre with a Nomex honeycomb core, while the hull is built of glass, Kevlar and foam. She’s designed for a maximum speed of 22.5 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 17 knots.
Adastra offers luxe accommodation for nine guests and up to six crew members. The main helm station, which has seating for two, is positioned in a raised pilothouse situated between the aft deck and the saloon area, forming part of the cross beam structure.
The yacht’s 53-ft. beam creates a spacious saloon area on the main deck offering incredible views through a panoramic window and accommodating a lounge area, dining table, and navigation station. The project is currently nearing completion at China’s McConaghy Boats, and we bet the orders will be rolling in shortly.
